BISE chairmen directed to prepare uniform policy for exams

PESHAWAR, Jan 29 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Arshad Ayub Khan has directed the chairmen of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boards of Intermediate Education to prepare a policy for uniform examination procedures in the education sector and formulate effective legislation and better strategies to prevent the trend of cheating in examinations.
He further directed that in the upcoming examinations, all the boards of the province should conduct the checking of students’ papers under the e-marking system.
He gave these instructions while presiding over a meeting of all the boards of intermediate and secondary education of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held in Peshawar on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Khalid, chairmen of education boards and other relevant officers.
On this occasion, decisions were taken to provide software for the upcoming examinations of the education boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eliminate copying, take immediate steps to conduct e-marking of at least three papers of each board of the province, and determine a plan of action to perform duties in the examinations.
Similarly, it was suggested to conduct independent inspection in the examination halls under the Joint Inspectorate for the appointment of inspectors in the examination halls.
It was decided in the meeting that advertisements will be given to recruit fresh graduates for duty in the examinations of all boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while the process of migration will be banned.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Education Minister Arshad Ayub Khan said that the primary responsibility of the chairmen of all boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is to successfully complete the examination process in a transparent manner and along with ensuring the provision of educational facilities for the students of the province, all students should be provided with equal opportunities.
He said that the government wants students to get out of the race of marks in the examinations, for which a new DMC is being introduced and all its aspects are being carefully reviewed.
The provincial minister directed the chairmen of the boards to hold mutual consultative meetings to adopt better strategies for the development of the education sector and to resolve the problems faced so that the desired goals of education promotion could be achieved.
