Bhara Kahu Housing Scheme: Offer letters to allotees likely in next two months

ISLAMABAD, Sept 7 (APP): Parliamentary Secretary for Housing and Works Syed Sajid Mehdi, Wednesday informed the National Assembly that offer letters to allotees of Bhara Kahu Housing Scheme first Phase is expected to be issued in next two months once the Capital Development Authority approved layout plan.

Responding to a Calling Attention Notice raised by Shakila Luqman and others regarding non-allotment of 2500 plots in the first Phase, he said land was purchased in 2009 for the scheme and some 3153 kanals were transferred to the Housing Foundation by M/S Green Tree Developer (GTD).

He said GTD had developed 3244 plots but when NESPAK conducted survey, there were only 2500 plots. The project was delayed due to litigation process as the Apex Court took suo moto notice, he informed.

The Parliamentary Secretary said National Accountability Bureau was brokering an agreement between the ministry of Housing and M/S Green Tree Developer to settle the issue.

To a question, Sajid said the Housing Foundation had paid the required amount from its own resources for the Phase-1. Land was being acquired for the 2nd Phase which needs billion of rupees, he added.
