Better economic opportunities can reduce crime rate: Ashtar Ausaf

ISLAMABAD, Dec 8 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Law and Justice, Ashtar Ausaf Ali Tuesday said crime rate in a society can be controlled by providing better economic opportunities to the citizens.
He said this while talking to Jean-Francois Caution, European Union Ambassador of EU delegation in Pakistan here on Tuesday said a press release.Ashtar Ausaf Ali has said that present government has set the economy of the country on the right track. The law and order situation in the country has improved during last two and a half years. He apprised the visiting delegation that during his recent visit to Europe he was informed that security agencies of Italy and Spain have reported improved security situation in Pakistan as a result these countries are planning to send their trade missions to Pakistan.Ashtar Ausaf Ali said that Pakistan is providing friendly environment and introducing good practices to attract more traders and investors from around the world. He hoped that EU will appreciate the measures taken by Pakistan towards better security and investment friendly environment.
While responding to question of illegal immigrants raised by EU Ambassador SAPM said that Pakistan takes this matter very seriously. He emphasized that any misgauging in this regard will be sorted out with mutual understanding and existing protocol can be improved so that human and fundamental rights of Pakistanis are not violated. He also emphasized the need for taking due precaution while deporting persons so that non Pakistanis cannot infiltrate our borders.Jean-Francois appreciated Pakistanis role in providing shelter to Afghan immigrants and discussed the situation arising in Europe out of Syrian immigrant crises with the SAPM.
Ali also briefed the EU delegation on Pakistan’s legal system,investigation and prosecution procedures and said that Pakistan legal system guarantees to safeguard basic human rights.
The two sides also discussed legal reform and prosecution process and other matter of mutual interests.
