ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (APP):Chairman Senate and founding chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, held separate meetings with parliamentary delegations from Barbados and Russia on the sidelines of the ongoing conference on Wednesday.
During the meetings, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation, and ways to strengthen parliamentary engagement.
Chairman Gilani emphasised the need for joint efforts to promote peace, security and development, stressing that parliamentary dialogue plays a vital role in fostering global understanding and cooperation.
The Russian delegation congratulated the Chairman Senate and the Senate Secretariat on the successful organisation of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, describing it as a major step forward for Pakistan’s parliamentary diplomacy.
Chairman Gilani thanked the delegations for their participation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening institutional linkages and expanding inter-parliamentary collaboration with friendly nations.
The two-day conference started on November 11 underway with parliamentary leaders from more than 40 countries, explored strategies for strengthening dialogue, promoting peace and ensuring sustainable development through parliamentary cooperation.
