ISLAMABAD, Mar 5 (APP):Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Tuesday said police officers on duty will be duly empowered to challan the violators in order to discourage littering from moving cars on roads.

He made these remarks while chairing a meeting of Clean Green Pakistan project, said a press release issued here.

Malik Amin Aslam said that on the special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, massive plantation would be carried out along with the other initiatives of solid and liquid waste management and ban on plastic shopping bags in the coming days.

The delegation of MCI apprised the Adviser about water capacity in Khanpur and Simly Dams. They also informed about the widening gap in the demand and supply of water in the federal capital and shared measures for public awareness and installation of water meters.

Malik Amin Aslam emphasised that solid and liquid waste management were two important components of Clean Green Pakistan. International standards and practices would be implemented to tackle the issue, he added.

CDA Officials said that directives have been issued to car service stations for the implementation of Water Recycling Plants and those who failed to comply with the directives would be fined and sealed as per law.
