Ayaz Sadiq’s return to NA is victory of democracy: Lawmakers

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (APP): Lawmakers in the Upper House Monday
congratulated Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on becoming the Speaker of the
National Assembly after a re-election.
Applauding the the role of Ayaz Sadiq in upholding democratic
traditions in the parliament, the senators stated that Ayaz Sadiq would
maintain those standards in coming years.
Pakistan People’s Party Senator Muhammad Yousaf Badini said
that Ayaz Sadiq’s return to the Speaker’s seat is victory of
democracy.
Senator Taj Haider said that Sardar’s re-election would play
a significant role in the promotion of democratic values and
traditions in the House.
He said Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was re-elected by the House with
heavy mandate which was an important step towards democratic
stability.
Awami National Party (ANP) senator Haji Adeel applauded the
role of Ayaz Sadiq in upholding democratic traditions in the
parliament.
He hoped that Ayaz Sadiq would maintain those standards in
coming years. He lauded Sadiq’s efforts as Speaker in the last
two years before he was de-seated.
ANP senator Zahid Khan congratulated Ayaz Sadiq for his re-
election as National Assembly (NA) Speaker with 268 votes. He said
that people’s trust in the system is crucial for democracy.
PML-N senator Syed Zafar Ali Shah said that it is hoped that
Ayaz Sadiq would use the given authority for welfare of the people. He
stated that Ayaz Sadiq will maintain those standards in coming
years. He said that supremacy of the law and the
Constitution would strengthen the country.
