ISLAMABAD, Dec 31 (APP): Speaker of National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Wednesday, extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to the nation on the advent of the New Year 2026.
He expressed hope that the coming year would bring renewed opportunities for progress, stability and prosperity for Pakistan, and prayed that it would foster peace, economic growth, and overall well-being for the people of the country, said a news release.
NA Speaker emphasized that the start of a new year offers an opportunity to reflect on past experiences and chart a clear and purposeful path for the future.

Acknowledging the challenges Pakistan faced in 2025, including regional tensions and war-like situations, Ayaz Sadiq highlighted that the principled and responsible stance of Pakistan following the conflict with India was recognized and respected at the international level.
He said that the country achieved significant diplomatic successes during this period, strengthening both Pakistan’s global standing and its national prestige.
Ayaz Sadiq also reminded the nation not to forget the plight of the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian-administered Kashmir, who continue to face severe human rights violations and persistent hardships.
He highlighted the additional challenges faced by the people of Gaza due to war and extreme weather conditions, including heavy rains, which have compounded their suffering.
The Speaker expressed hope that the New Year will bring justice, peace and freedom to the people of Palestine and Kashmir.
Ayaz Sadiq underscored that national stability and sustainable development require mutual tolerance, social harmony, and cooperation.
He stressed that in a diverse and multi-religious society like Pakistan, promoting interfaith harmony is crucial to strengthening mutual respect, unity and lasting peace.
