ISLAMABAD, Dec 04 (APP):National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Thursday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and extensive property damage caused by severe flooding in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
In a statement issued here, the Speaker conveyed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the families affected by the devastating floods, as well as with the parliaments, governments and people of the disaster-hit countries.
Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the urgent need for enhanced global cooperation to support relief and rehabilitation efforts in the affected regions.
He called on the international community to take priority-based measures to assist the flood-stricken nations in their recovery.
Highlighting the growing threat of climate-related disasters, the Speaker said that natural calamities are a direct consequence of climate change, which demands a joint global strategy to mitigate its impacts.
He said that Pakistan itself is among the countries vulnerable to climate-induced challenges.
The Speaker underscored the need for collective efforts to ensure the swift rehabilitation and support of the flood victims, urging the world community to stand with the affected nations in this difficult time.
