ISLAMABAD, Aug 17 (APP):Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the passing of former Member of the National Assembly, Begum Nafisa Khalid, who was also the maternal grandmother of Special Secretary (Special Inititaives) National Assembly, Syed Shamoon Hashmi.
Ayaz Sadiq paid rich tribute to the late Begum Nafisa Khalid for her valuable political, parliamentary and social services.
He said that she made significant contributions to the strengthening of democracy and the promotion of democratic values in the country. Her political, parliamentary and social services would be remembered for a long time to come, he added.
Ayaz Sadiq said that the passing of Begum Nafisa Khalid was a great loss to her family and loved ones. He extended his heartfelt condolences to Syed Shamoon Hashmi and other members of the bereaved family and expressed solidarity with them in this hour of grief.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to bless the departed soul with the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and grant the bereaved family strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss with equanimity.
