Australian HC celebrates achievements of scholarship recipients

ISLAMABAD, Sep 13 (APP): Australian High Commissioner in Pakistan Margaret Adamson extended his best wishes to those celebrating Eid-ul-Azha in Pakistan, in Australia and across the world.

“Eid-ul-Azha’s themes of reflection, sacrifice and charity seem more relevant each year given the global challenges we face. These values of tolerance, compassion and generosity towards one another are reflected in the generosity that Muslims all over the world, including the Pakistani community in Australia, have shown over the years,” the high commissioner said in his message on Eid-ul-Azha being celebrtaed Tuesday across Pakistan.

Margaret Adamson said over 40,000 Pakistanis were currently living in Australia and around 16,000 Pakistani students were studying in Australian universities. They were contributing significantly towards making Australia a prosperous and successful multicultural society, the envoy added.

The high commissioner viewed that these people-to-people ties and the shared heritage between the two countries form the basis of Australia’s firm bonds with Pakistan.
