ISLAMABAD, Dec 03 (APP): Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi along with leading Pakistani film makers represented Pakistan in 43rd Fajr Film Festival held in Historic city of Shiraz, Iran. Pakistani movies were also showcased in the festival for first time.

Aurangzeb Khan Khichi was invited as a special guest to participate in the festival. The minister actively participated in all events and visited Pakistan Pavilion. He also met the chairman of Cinematic foundation Iran and invited him to visit Pakistan to explore the area of collaboration in cinema industry, said a press release received here on Wednesday.

In his key note address, minister stressed on the joint production of films by both countries.
“Pakistan and Iran are close neighbors and enjoy close social, cultural religious and brotherly relations,” he said.
The cinema is a powerful tool for promoting the culture and cultural values of any country. The screening of Iranian movies in Pakistani cinemas and Pakistani movies in Iranian cinemas will help to bring our people closer to each other, he noted.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment for the promotion and uplifting Cinema industry in Pakistan.
For the first time, three Pakistani movies, “actor in law”, ” Umro ayar -a new beginning”, and “Taxali gate” were screened in the festival.
