ISLAMABAD, Nov 26 (APP): Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar Wednesday congratulated PTV on its 61st anniversary, underscoring the revival of its esteemed legacy, noting that national unity, digital advancement and sustainable reforms backed by the private sector and Gen Z are essential for the broadcaster’s future, while stressing the need to welcome constructive criticism to further strengthen the institution.
While speaking exclusively to PTV News’ morning show, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan is like a home that must be protected with dignity and respect, urging everyone to face criticism with an open heart and remain united, stressing that strong national unity is essential for the country’s progress and the preservation of its values.
Responding a query, Minister for information hailed the Pakistani Gen Z for their full spirited response in the Meem War, which, he said, left India’s critics surprised.
He praised their energy and patriotism, emphasizing that this generation has a unique role to play in shaping the country’s future.
Tarar added that it is now Gen Z’s time to rise and contribute, stressing the importance of connecting Pakistan’s rich legacy with their vision for a better future.
He called on young Pakistanis to embrace their responsibility in carrying forward the achievements of the past while driving innovation and national progress.
Attaullah Tarar emphasized that PTV’s legacy must be carried forward with a futuristic approach to meet the demands of a rapidly changing media landscape.
He highlighted the need to modernize the national broadcaster while preserving its rich history and cultural significance.
He also stressed that collaboration with the private sector would accelerate reforms and bring transformative changes, enabling PTV to engage audiences more effectively and secure a sustainable, forward-looking future.
Minister further in response of question paid tribute to PTV viewers and the Information Ministry team for their dedication to promoting digitalization and modernizing the broadcaster while preserving its legacy.
He specially hailed Pakistani Gen Z, saying it is their time to connect the country’s rich past with a better future.
He also appreciated the Prime Minister for giving full confidence and support to his vision and stressed that collaboration with the private sector would bring transformative change to ensure a sustainable, forward-looking PTV.
Attaullah Tarar further highlighted the Information Ministry’s ongoing projects, including the introduction and promotion of English-language channels, noting the role of outlets like Al Jazeera in expanding Pakistan’s media presence and ensuring the country’s perspective is effectively communicated on the international stage.
