ISLAMABAD, Jun 15 (APP): An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday issued a notice to the Executive Director of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), seeking an explanation over the non-submission of a medical board report concerning accused Hashim Abbasi in the November 26, protest case involving the killing of Rangers personnel.
During the hearing, presided over by Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, the medical board’s report regarding accused Hashim Abbasi was not submitted despite earlier court directions.
Expressing strong displeasure over the delay, the court issued a notice to the Executive Director PIMS and sought a response on the matter.
The court subsequently adjourned further proceedings until July 8.
The court had ordered the formation of a medical board on November 24 to assess the condition of the accused. PTI founder Imran Khan and several other PTI leaders have also been nominated in the case.
However, trial proceedings are currently continuing only in respect of the principal accused, Hashim Abbasi.
The case was registered at Ramna Police Station and pertains to the alleged crushing of Rangers personnel during the November 26 protest.
