LAHORE, Jan 05 (APP):An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday adjourned until tomorrow the hearing of the case relating to the burning of police vehicles during the May 9 violence in Mughalpura.
ATC Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill, conducted the proceedings at Kot Lakhpat Jail. During the hearing, the attendance of both bail-granted and detained accused was completed.
The prosecution recorded statements of four witnesses against the accused, bringing the trial close to completion. The court was informed that only the statements of two investigating officers remain to be recorded.
Those currently in custody include Dr Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Ijaz Chaudhry, and Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, along with other accused. Advocates Rana Mudassir Umar and Mian Ali Ammar appeared on behalf of the accused.
The accused, including several PTI leaders, face charges of allegedly inciting party workers to rebellion and acts of violence and arson during the May 9 unrest.
