Asad launches ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ tree plantation campaign

ISLAMABAD, March 14 (APP):Finance Minister, Asad Umer Thursday launched clean and green Pakistan spring tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling in sector D-12 here.
Addressing the launching ceremony, he said Pakistan was ranked among most vulnerable climate change countries, hence the tree plantation was most important to boost environmental protection measure as well as promote forestation.
He said the government had set a target of planting 15 billion trees.
He said it was the responsibility of every person to participation in tree plantation campaign and plant a tree to promote the green and clean environment.
The minister said one million saplings would be planted in the federal capital during the spring tree plantation campaign and lauded the efforts of district administration in this regard.
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Ali Nawaz Khan, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman Aamir Ali Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafaqat and District Administration and CDA and MCI officers were also present on this occasion.
