Around 16,000 applications received on PITB developed portal for Global IT Certifications

LAHORE, Mar 03 (APP):The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has received around 16,000 applications since September 2024 through its Global IT Certifications Program, aimed at facilitating internationally recognized certifications for youth.
This was highlighted during a progress review meeting presided over by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by PITB Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif, Director Skills Development Wing Chaudhry Ahmed Islam, and other senior officials.
During the briefing, it was revealed that eligibility of over 8,500 candidates has been verified through the PITB-developed portal so far. Payment verification of 511 candidates has been completed, while the fee reimbursement process is underway after verification of 401 certifications. Furthermore, 273 successful candidates who completed their certifications have already received full reimbursement of their certification fee directly into their bank accounts.
Speaking on the occasion, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated, “The primary objective of the Global IT Certifications Program is to equip youth with internationally recognized digital skills and enhance their employability in the global market.” He further added that in light of the overwhelming response from youth and the evolving needs of the industry, the scope of the program has been expanded to offer more than 120 globally recognized certifications.
