APP should play key role in highlighting state narrative: Fawad

ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (APP):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Monday said that  as a leading news agency of the country, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) had to play central role in highlighting Pakistan’s
state narrative all over the world.
In an exclusive chat with APP Video News Service here, the minister
said  that the present elected government would take steps
for strengthening of national institutions including APP.
He announced that one board of governors would look after state media institutions
PTV, Radio Pakistan and APP.
He promised to improve service structure of the APP as job satisfaction was pre-requite for good performance.
He said that steps would be taken so that the national institutions should be able stand on their own feet.
Recounting the government steps to strengthen state media, he said
that at after coming to power, the PTI government immediately ended
censorship on PTV and Radio Pakistan and stopped misuse of government
advertisements through Press Information Department and decided to
adopt an independent model to minimize government control.
