ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP): Senior APHC leader and Vice Chairman Jammu Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Altaf Hussain Wani has thanked Pakistan Prime Minister Anwar ul Haq Kakar for raising the Kashmir issue during his speech to the UN general assembly.
In his statement issued here Saturday, Wani said, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir, owe a debt of gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their continued and consistent support of our legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination”.
Prime Minister Kakar’s bold stance on the issue of Kashmir, he said, demonstrated Pakistan’s consistent policy, its unwavering commitment and allegiance towards the cause of Kashmir.
“We deeply appreciate Pakistan’s enduring support and its unwavering commitment to seek a settlement of the dispute in line with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people”, Wani said, adding that despite facing many daunting challenges, Pakistan has never hesitated to go the extra mile in advocating Kashmiris’ cause at important world forums”.
He expressed the hope that Pakistan would continue to extend its moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris till they achieve their cherished goal of freedom from India’s unlawful and forcible occupation.
Lauding Pakistan’s role in championing the cause of Kashmir at the world level, Wani said that Pakistan has always played a pivotal role in providing every possible support at the regional and international level to the ongoing liberation struggle of the Kashmiri people.
