APA conference's foreign delegates receive warm welcome in Gwadar

KARACHI, Oct 28 (APP):The arrival of foreign delegates to participate in the three-day conference of Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s Committee on Political Affairs continued on Sunday.
The delegates were accorded warm welcome by traditional cultural programmes on their arrival in Gwadar.
On Sunday, the Secretary General of Inter-Parliamentary Union, Martin Chungong and Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s Secretary General Muhammad Raza Majidi, besides more than 50 delegates and members of Senate of Pakistan reached Gwadar to attend the conference, starting on Monday (October 29).
Acting President Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani received the delegates at the Gwadar Airport. Besides, Leader of House in Senate Senator Shibli Faraz, Chief Secretary Balochistan Dr. Nazir, the director
generals of Gwadar Development Authority and Gwadar Port Authority and officials of local administration were also present on the occasion.
From the airport to the venue of the conference, foreign delegations were welcomed in a befitting manner.
Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Secretary General expressed pleasure for experiencing Gwadar’s culture and social life and development and economic progress in the area.
He thanked Acting President Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani. The delegates from Turkey, Syria, Qatar, Indonesia, China and a number of other countries also praised the culture and traditions of Gwadar.
Earlier, Secretary Senate Amjad Pervaiz Malik and Deputy Secretary APA Dr. Khurram Ali discussed arrangements for the conference.
The deputy secretary general of APA expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements for the event.
