Anusha appreciates Ciosco’s intention for achieving Digital Pakistan vision

ISLAMABAD, Nov 5 (APP): Minister of State for Information Technology,
Anusha Rahman here on Thursday appreciated the Cisco’s positive intention for working to achieve government of Pakistan vision of a “Digital Pakistan”, with emphasis on socio economic development.
During a meeting with Country Head of Cisco, Naveed Qazi, the minister
of State discussed numerous areas of collaboration to spur the digitalization in the country.
The minister suggested convening international digital conference in
Pakistan, aiming at harnessing the collective intelligence of world’s best technical minds to help mapping out the global ICT indicators for Pakistan.
She said that young girls and women were at the front and center of our strategic priorities, while we endeavored to bridge the digital gap in Pakistan.
“I strongly suggest that Cisco should play a pivotal role in empowering the women and girls through technology in Pakistan”, she added.
Country Head of Cisco, Naveed Qazi appreciated the endeavors of Ministery of Information Technology (MoIT) in transforming Pakistan’s ICT landscape into an enviable platform where all big international companies were eyeing to increase their technical and human footprint.
He agreed with the Minister’s suggestions and showed their companies
interest in partnering the development of Pakistan both for convening a Digital conference and Women Empowerment program.
In meeting, the health had also been spotted as one of the potential area where Cisco in collaboration with local partners could help for providing medical services to remote areas of the country under auspices of MoIT’s tele center project.
