ANF seizes over 117 kg of narcotics worth over Rs 91.5 million in eight operations
RAWALPINDI, Oct 12 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)on Monday arrested seven suspects and recovered 117.61 kg of narcotics worth over Rs 91.5 million in eight operations conducted near educational institutions, airports and other locations across the country.
In an operation near a university in Attock, 210 grams of ice (methamphetamine) was recovered from a motorcyclist. According to the ANF, the arrested suspect confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.
At Islamabad International Airport, authorities recovered 5.7 kg of ice, allegedly soaked into clothes, from the luggage of a passenger travelling to Riyadh. In a separate operation at the airport, 3.1 kg of cocaine concealed in books was seized from the luggage of a passenger arriving from Muscat.
In domestic operations, 3 kg of hashish was recovered from a suspect near a hotel on National Highway in Hyderabad, while 2.4 kg of hashish was seized from a motorcyclist near Fateh Garh Road, Sialkot.
Near GPO Sialkot, 1.2 kg of hashish was recovered from two motorcyclists.
In a major seizure, 72 kg of ice was recovered near Kalmat Beach in Pasni, while 30 kg of heroin was seized from a compound near Tehsil Winder in District Hub.
Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigation is underway.
