ANF seizes 306 kg drugs in 10 countrywide operations

ISLAMABAD, Dec 8 (APP): Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has seized 306 kg drugs worth Rs. 855.58 million in international market during 10 countrywide operations and arrested 12 persons.
The seized drugs included 272.2 kg charas, 31 kg heroin and three (3) kg opium while the Force also impounded two vehicles during the operations. According to details here on Tuesday, ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team while acting on a tip-off, intercepted a Suzuki Cultus Car Registered No. ANF-224-Karachi near Balkasar Interchange Motorway and after detailed search of the vehicle 84 kg charas was recovered. However, the driver of the vehicle managed to evade raiding party.ANF Rawalpindi Gilgit Team arrested an accused namely
Muhammad Sharif, resident of Dasu, Kohistan from Ghari Bagh, Gilgit and recovered one kg charas from his personal possession. As per reports, the culprit was a street drug supplier.
ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused namely Shoukat Khan,resident of Khyber Agency from Bus Stand Dina, GT Road, Jhelum and recovered 1.2 kg charas from his personal possession.
As per initial investigation, the accused intended to carry drugs to Lahore for supply at local level. ANF Quetta Road Check Team in an intelligence based operation intercepted a Toyota Corolla car registered No. LOG-593 from General Area of Said Hameed Cross, Chaman-Quetta Road, Tehsil Gulistan, Distt Qilla Abdullah and recovered 167 kg charas and three
kg opium concealed inside the car. As per preliminary investigations, the consignment was in transit to Quetta for onward delivery to Karachi for local consumption.ANF Peshawar Road Check Team intercepted a Toyota Hiace Vehicle No. LES-6499 near Main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and arrested a lady Niaz Meena, resident of Peshawar. Complete search
resulted in recovery of 8.4 kg charas. In another case, ANF Peshawar intercepted passenger bus registered No. LES-6886 and recovered 1.2 kg charas from personal possession of accused Muhammad Asghar, resident of Sargodha. In an information based operation, ANF Lahore apprehended an accused namely Mohsin Raza resident of Faisalabad from Daewoo Bus Stand Faisalabad and recovered three kg charas concealed inside the suitcase.
During routine profiling, ANF Lahore Road Check Team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Shahzad resident of Lahore at Talagang Road Mianwali. The complete search of the accused resulted in recovery of 2.4 kg charas.On tip-off, ANF Lahore conducted a raid near Thokar Niaz Baig Lahore, arrested two accused namely Ijazul Haq, resident of
Charsada and Amanullah Khan, resident of Peshawar. On detailed search of the accused persons 15 kg heroin was recovered from their personal possession.ANF Lahore apprehended three persons namely Misree Khan, resident of Jumrood, Peshawar, Robina Saleem, resident of Bada Bair, Peshawar and Munawra Iftikhar, resident of Sargodha and recovered 16
kg heroin from their possession. ANF Lahore Road Check Team also arrested Hashim Khan,
resident of Mianwali at Main Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and recovered four (4) kg charas from personal possession of the accused. Cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigation is underway.
