Amir Muqam addresses ‘Jeeve Pakistan’ rally in Muzaffarabad

ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam on Wednesday arrived here on a two-day official visit and addressed a large ‘Jeeve Pakistan’ rally from Kohala Bridge to Muzaffarabad.

The rally was organized by AJK Minister for Energy and Water Resources Raja Saqib Majeed, with thousands of people and vehicles participating. The federal minister was received at Kohala Bridge by a large number of people.

Addressing the participants, Engineer Amir Muqam said he had come on behalf of PML-N Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to thank the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for their confidence in the party leadership.

He said the visit had been delayed due to health reasons, but he had come specifically to express gratitude to the Kashmiri people for their support.

The minister said the PML-N leadership was committed to fulfilling its promises to the people of AJK, adding that implementation of the 100-day programme had begun and its practical impact would soon be visible. He said the people of Kashmir had demonstrated their support for Pakistan and the PML-N despite difficult circumstances.

Engineer Amir Muqam said the historical bond between the people of Pakistan and Kashmir would continue to be strengthened, with the PML-N playing its role in this regard. He also thanked Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Pakistan Army and other institutions for holding peaceful elections.

Referring to ongoing political protests, he said political differences were part of the democratic process but should not cause inconvenience to ordinary citizens.

He said political issues should be resolved through dialogue and mutual consultation within the Constitution and law, and appealed to political groups to avoid activities that could create difficulties for the public.

The minister also welcomed the postponement of Jamaat-e-Islami’s protest following an appeal by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said the AJK government, its leadership and PML-N workers would work together for the welfare, development and prosperity of the people.

Participants raised slogans including “Kashmir will become Pakistan,” “Pakistan Zindabad,” “Kashmir Zindabad” and slogans in support of PML-N leadership and the Pakistan Army.

Raja Saqib Majeed, Shafqat Ali Chaudhry Advocate, District Council member Yasir Gilani, Sardar Naeed Abbasi, Khawaja Aamir Zafar and people from different walks of life attended the rally.
