All possible steps to be taken for self-sufficiency in food: Mehboob Sultan

LAHORE, Feb 22 (APP):Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Sahibzada Muhammad Mehboob Sultan on Friday said that every possible step would be taken to achieve the target of self-sufficiency in food.
He was speaking at “Buffalo Mela and National Livestock Show 2019” organised by Livestock and Dairy Development department Punjab in Pattoki.
The federal minister congratulated the Livestock department for organising a successful event. He also appreciated efforts of the department in the development of the country and assured full support of the federal government to it.

Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Livestock Sardar Husnain Bahadur Dareshak said that livelihood of people in rural areas was linked with dairy sector as they provided milk and meat to urban population.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was paying special focus on this sector due to its importance.
On this occasion, various animals including buffaloes, sheep and camels brought from all over the country, were presented. A competition of buffaloes’ beauty and milk production was also held in the show.
Advisor to the CM on Livestock Nawab Faisal Hayat Khan threw light on importance of livestock and dairy sector.
Secretary Livestock Ahsan Waheed, Vice Chancellor University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and others were present on the occasion.
