ISLAMABAD, Sep 11 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Friday announced that Ali Asad Gilani has been appointed as Pakistan’s new Ambassador to China, succeeding Khalil Hashmi, who is set to conclude his tenure and return to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs next week.
The deputy prime minister, in a post on X, said that after completing his tenure, Khalil Hashmi would join the foreign ministry next week, appreciating his important contribution to further advancing the close and enduring Pakistan-China friendship.
Following successful completion of his tenure as Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Mr. Khalil Hashmi will be joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs next week. He has made important contribution to further advancing the close and enduring Pakistan-China friendship.
I am pleased to share that Mr. Ali Asad Gilani will succeed him as Pakistan’s next Ambassador to China. Having served at important positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I am confident that he will further advance the Pakistan China all-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and build on the important work undertaken by his predecessors.

Announcing the new assignment of Ali Asad Gilani, Deputy Prime Minister Dar said that he had served in important positions at the foreign ministry.
