ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP): Parliamentary Secretary for Board of Investment Akhtar Bibi on Wednesday paid rich tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi for enhancing Pakistan image on international level.
Speaking in the National Assembly during budget debate, she said that Pakistan’s leadership save the world from 3rd world war.
Akhtar Bibi said that Pakistan has earned significant recognition globally due to its strong defense capabilities and diplomatic achievements.
Highlighting development challenges facing Balochistan, Akhtar Bibi urged the federal government to expedite work on critical infrastructure projects in the province.
She expressed confidence that the prime minister was committed to addressing the longstanding issues of Balochistan despite various challenges and a sense of deprivation in some areas.
Referring to the Karachi-Quetta highway, she said thousands of lives had been lost in traffic accidents on the route and appreciated the prime minister’s efforts to upgrade it into the Pakistan Expressway.

Akhtar Bibi said that Rs100 billion has been allocated in the 2026-27 federal budget for the project, a move welcomed by the people of Balochistan.
Identifying herself as a daughter of Balochistan from Nasirabad Division, she said the region was severely affected by devastating floods and continues to face significant development challenges.
She highlighted two major pending projects of vital importance to the division.

Secondly, she raised concerns over the 11.7-kilometre Dera Murad Jamali Bypass project, adding that despite expenditure of around Rs540 million since work began in 2021, progress remained unsatisfactory
She regretted that the project had not been allocated funds in either the 2025-26 or 2026-27 budgets and urged the government to allocate funds for the bypass project and approve its PC-I so that construction work could resume.
She pointed out that National Highway N-65, connecting Sindh and Balochistan, faced heavy traffic congestion causing daily hardships for commuters.
She appealed to the prime minister to fulfil his commitments to the people of Balochistan by ensuring timely funding for these essential development projects.
She expressed confidence that the government would take effective measures to resolve the issues faced by the people of Nasirabad Division and the wider province.
Concluding her speech, she said that the people of Balochistan would always remember the government’s support for projects aimed at improving connectivity, irrigation, and economic development in the province.
