AJK PM calls for humanitarian approach to Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (APP): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan has said the gravity of human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir called for adoption of a humanitarian approach by the international community.
He was addressing at the inauguration of an exhibition on Kashmir entitled “The Paradise turned Hell” at the Press Club Brussels.
The exhibition was arranged by the Kashmir Council EU and Friends of Kashmir Group in the European Parliament in connection with the Kashmir -EU week being observed in Brussels, Belgium, said a message received here Tuesday.
In his address, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir invited attention of the international community towards the unprecedented scale of human rights violations in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He stressed for peaceful solution of this long standing issue in accordance with the Resolutions of the United Nations.
He strongly condemned the atrocities being committed by India against the innocent people of Kashmir who were struggling for their right to self determination.
The Kashmir-EU Week was being organized by Members of European Parliament Sajjad Karim, Afzal Khan and Friends of Kashmir Group in EU Parliament in collaboration with the Kashmir Council EU.
Members of European Parliament, journalists, and representatives from various walks of life attended the event to express their solidarity with people of Kashmir Sajjad Karim, Afzal Khan, Amjad Bashir, Ms Julie Ward; Anthony Crasner and Ms Danielle Caron; and Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed also addressed the gathering.
Member of European Parliament Sajjad Karim said the European Union had now started to realize the importance of voice of people of Kashmir through their involvement in finding a way forward to resolve this conflict.
In this regard, he also referred to a communication from Ms Federica Mogherini the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
The speakers expressed deep concern over the plight of the people of IoK who had been suffering worst kind of atrocities at the hands of Indian occupation forces for seven decades.
They urged for immediate attention of the world community to address the ever growing human rights violations in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir as since July this year the atrocities had been rising on an unprecedented scale.
The speakers strongly condemned inhumane use of pellet guns resulting in killings of more than 100 people and seriously injuring over 8000 people.
