ISLAMABAD, Aug 09 (APP):Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will hold its first-ever Job Fair on August 20 at the University’s Science Block aimed at connecting students and graduates directly with leading public and private sector organizations and providing them with opportunities for employment, internships, training programs and professional development.
The Job Fair will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be formally inaugurated at 9:00 a.m. by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood.
In addition to AIOU students and graduates, students from other universities across the country will also be eligible to participate. Prominent national and international companies, government and private organizations, financial institutions and leading organizations from the fields of information technology, telecommunications, banking, education, healthcare, industry and services will set up representative stalls at the event.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore employment and internship opportunities, graduate trainee programs, career counseling and professional guidance while interacting directly with representatives of leading organizations.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood said that promoting professional skills among students and preparing them to meet the demands of the practical world is one of the University’s top priorities.
Dean, Faculty of Sciences, Professor Dr. Sher Muhammad said that the Job Fair is part of the Faculty’s efforts to strengthen links between academia and industry, bring leading national and private-sector organizations onto a common platform and create new opportunities for employment, internships and professional training for students.
The University administration has urged students, graduates and students from other universities to attend the Job Fair with their updated CVs and make the most of this unique opportunity to connect directly with leading organizations and explore opportunities for a brighter professional future.
