ISLAMABAD, Dec 08 (APP):Two day Annual Autumn Flower Exhibition held here at the CDA Model Nursery “Gardenia Hub,” in which Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) secured first place in the educational institutions category.
The exhibition was organized by the National Horticulture Society with the support of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
In the competitions for various categories of chrysanthemums, many institutions from across the country participated including Arid Agriculture University, Islamabad Club, Pakistan Air Force Islamabad, CDA, Attock Refinery, the Floriculture Department and Allama Iqbal Open University, said a press release on Monday.
It is noteworthy that the university participated in competitions across three different categories and secured first place in each.
The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Nasir Mehmood congratulated the gardeners for their hard work and success, stating that the university is proud of its gardeners.
He further added that by winning awards at the flower exhibition every year, the gardeners elevate the university’s name with pride.
According to Horticulture Officer Syed Wajih-ul-Hasan the university had prepared various types of chrysanthemums for the exhibition.
