AIOU holds national conference on social sciences

ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP): Allama Iqbal Open University will
hold a national conference on social sciences here early next month.
It will be a mega event, to be attended by social scientists
from all over the country.
This is part of the University’s continuous efforts to promote
innovative and research-based study on socio-economic problems, said
Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui.
He said it will cover wide-ranging topics of different disciplines
to help understand complex social problems, said a press release Monday.
The University, he said wished to play its pro-active role in
promoting applied and meaningful research through its academic pursuits. This is also aimed providing academic input to the government in policy-making.
The AIOU is also actively engaged in developing linkage
between the researchers and industries for the best use of new
innovations and scientific advancement.
The forthcoming conference will reinstate the significance of
the social sciences by highlighting their increasing relevance in
today’s context.
It would serve as a platform for presenting new knowledge and
insights in the field of social sciences.
