AIOU holds national conference on social sciences on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (APP): Allama Iqbal Open University will
hold a two-day national conference on social sciences here on
Wednesday at its main campus.
The conference to be attended by senior academicians and
social scientists from all over the country will cover wide-ranging
topics of different disciplines to help understand complex social
problems.
This is a part of the University’s continued efforts to
promote innovative and research-based study on socio-economic
problems, said Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui.
The University wished to play a pro-active role in promoting
applied and meaningful research through academic pursuits. Such
research activities are also aimed achieving excellence and
promoting professional development in the relevant fields, he
added.
The forthcoming conference will highlight the significance
of the social sciences by highlighting their increasing relevance
in today’s context. It would serve as a platform for presenting
new knowledge and insights in the field of social sciences, said
Dr. Amir Shah focal person of the conference.
