ISLAMABAD, Jun 26 (APP):Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has achieved remarkable success in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, a globally recognized ranking system.
According to the rankings, AIOU secured the first position among federal universities in Pakistan and the second position among all public sector universities in the country for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – Quality Education.
AIOU also claimed the top position among Pakistani universities in SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Additionally, the university ranked first in the country for SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities and SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals. In SDG 1 – No Poverty, AIOU stood at the third position nationwide.
Expressing his pride in the university’s accomplishments, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood stated that AIOU is on par with the world’s leading universities.
He emphasized that the university’s curriculum, laboratories, faculty and all academic processes meet international standards.
Continuous efforts are made to ensure the delivery of quality education, which has led to these significant achievements in various sustainable development goals — a matter of great pride for the university and the nation.
