Speaking to the audience, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry said Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant idea but a defining force of the present that can reshape Pakistan’s economy, governance systems, and information landscape if adopted responsibly and thoughtfully.
Drawing a parallel with education and human development, he remarked that life progresses in phases, from crawling to walking and then running, and no stage can be skipped. He said the education system, particularly at university level, is designed to build these foundations gradually, enabling students to develop skills step by step before moving toward advanced innovation and leadership.
Highlighting the government’s vision under the National Economic Transformation Plan Uraan Pakistan 2024–2029, he said digital innovation, technology driven governance, and capacity building are key pillars for sustainable growth and global competitiveness.
The Parliamentary Secretary said AI holds significant promise for improving transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity in public institutions, especially in information dissemination, media regulation, and citizen engagement.
He also emphasized the responsible evolution of media in the AI era, noting that while AI can help counter misinformation and strengthen public trust, it must be guided by strong ethical frameworks, regulatory oversight, and cross sector collaboration to ensure credibility and accountability.
