Ahsan hails Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-Türkiye defence pact as milestone for regional peace

ISLAMABAD, Aug 07 (APP): Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Friday termed the landmark trilateral defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye a major milestone for regional peace, stability and collective security, saying it reflected the three brotherly countries’ shared commitment to strategic cooperation and a secure, prosperous future.

The minister, in a statement, said the historic agreement signed in Makkah, Saudi Arabia was a manifestation of the mutual trust, deep-rooted friendship and growing strategic partnership among the three Islamic nations.

He said the enhanced defence cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye would further strengthen their resolve for collective security and contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.

Ahsan Iqbal said the agreement reflected the shared vision of the three countries for a safe, stable and prosperous future, while promoting closer coordination in matters of mutual interest.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening its fraternal ties with Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, adding that the agreement would open new avenues of cooperation in the defence and strategic sectors.

The minister described the Makkah accord as a welcome development for the unity of the Muslim Ummah, greater mutual cooperation and the promotion of shared security interests.

He also lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, saying Pakistan’s defence diplomacy had achieved an important milestone through the successful conclusion of the trilateral agreement.
