Afghan situation remained main focus in PM's meetings with various delegates: Fawad

ISLAMABAD, Dec 19 (APP):Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Sunday that Prime Minister Imran Khan had meetings with the various delegates on the sidelines of the OIC Summit and situation in Afghanistan remained the main topic.

Talking to media here he said that a joint television channel would be set up to promote media links between Pakistan, Turkey and Malaysia.

He said that focal persons have been named for media sharing, and joint media network will be formed.

Chaudhry Fawad said that issues of extremism needed to be tackled in Pakistan, Malaysia and other countries of the Ummah.

He suggested that under the OIC platform, a unit of scholars should be named to provide guidance on religious issues.

All such scholars would gather at one place through Rehmat-ul-Ulameen Authority, he said adding that efforts were being made to create a forum under OIC that could resolve issues in religious debates.

The minister said that the jurisdiction of Rehmat-ul-Alamin Authority would be expanded, and a similar unit would be formed under OIC.
