Acting Prosecutor General Manzoor Jajja Assumes Charge of Islamabad Prosecution Office
ISLAMABAD, Aug 03 (APP):Acting Prosecutor General Islamabad Manzoor Jajja on Monday assumed charge of the Islamabad Prosecutor General’s Office and pledged to introduce institutional reforms while ensuring the early appointment of prosecutors against vacant posts.
District Public Prosecutor Naseem Zia and members of his team called on the acting prosecutor general to congratulate him on assuming the office.
During the meeting, matters relating to reforms in the Prosecutor General’s Office and other administrative issues came under discussion.
Manzoor Jajja said appointments against vacant posts of prosecutors would be made at the earliest to improve the efficiency of the prosecution system.
The government prosecutors assured the acting Prosecutor General of their full cooperation in carrying out his responsibilities.
He will continue to oversee the day-to-day affairs of the office until the appointment of a permanent Prosecutor General Islamabad.
Former Prosecutor General Ghulam Sarwar Nahyong was recently approved by the Judicial Commission for appointment as a judge of the Lahore High Court.
