AC grants time to Zardari's lawyer for arguments in Thatha Water Supply scheme reference

ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (APP):An Accountability Court (AC) on Thursday granted time to ex-president Asif Ali Zardari’s lawyer for arguments in acquittal plea of his client in Thatha Water Supply scheme corruption reference.

AC-II Judge Muhammad Azam Khan heard the acquittal plea of Asif Zardari in graft reference connected with fake bank accounts scam.


Farooq H Naek prayed the court to adjourn hearing for now, adding that he would give arguments in acquittal plea on the next date.


The court accepted the request and adjourned the case till January 18.


The court also granted one-day exemption from hearing to former president Asif Ali Zardari on his lawyer’s request.


Meanwhile, AC-I Judge Muhammad Bashir extended the judicial remand of B4U company’s owner Saifur Rehman till January 6, in case pertaining looting the citizens on the name of investment.
