Abbasi reaffirms Pakistan’s support for Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP):Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, saying the country would continue to raise their cause at every international forum and support their right to self-determination.

In his message on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, the minister said the day served as a reminder that no nation’s identity, history and right to freedom could be suppressed through the use of force.

Referring to the unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, he said those measures had seriously undermined trust, peace and stability in the region.

Hanif Abbasi said the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir had been determined by the United Nations Security Council resolutions and could not be altered through unilateral actions.

He said the people of Kashmir had remained steadfast for decades in their struggle to secure their fundamental and inalienable right to self-determination, adding that their sacrifices, resilience and quest for freedom would always be remembered.

Expressing concern over demographic changes, political restrictions and alleged human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the minister urged the international community to play an effective role in ensuring the protection of human rights and implementation of international law.

He said Pakistan would continue to be the legitimate voice of the Kashmiri people at every international forum and extend full support to their just cause.

The minister said lasting peace and sustainable development in South Asia depended on a just and durable resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Hanif Abbasi assured the Kashmiri people that Pakistan stood firmly by them in every difficult time.

He also prayed for their patience, perseverance, and the early realization of justice and freedom.
