Abbasi, PM’s Tourism Coordinator discuss ways to promote tourism through Railways

ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (APP):Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Tuesday met Prime Minister’s Adviser and National Coordinator for Tourism Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and discussed measures to promote tourism through Pakistan Railways.
The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the railway and tourism sectors, improving travel facilities to tourist destinations and making the country’s scenic and historic sites more accessible to domestic and foreign tourists through the railway network, said a news release.
The two leaders stressed the need for coordinated efforts and mutual cooperation to transform Pakistan’s vast tourism potential into greater economic activity, employment opportunities and attractive destinations for local and international tourists.
They also discussed ways to strengthen connectivity between major tourist destinations and the railway network to facilitate tourists and promote tourism across the country.
The meeting underscored the importance of Pakistan Railways and the tourism sector as strong partners in promoting national development, connectivity and economic prosperity.
