961,000 pilgrims moved by Mashaaer Metro as Saudi officials review Hajj operations

ISLAMABAD, May 28 (APP):Saudi officials said more than 961,000 pilgrims had so far been transported through the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro during Hajj 1447 AH as authorities reviewed the smooth movement of pilgrims between the holy sites.
According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the update was shared during the third press briefing of the Hajj Unified Media Operations Center organized by the Ministry of Media.
The briefing was attended by security, health, transport and Hajj officials, including Ministry of Interior security spokesperson Talal bin Shalhoub, Ministry of Hajj and Umrah spokesperson Ghassan Alnwaimi, Ministry of Health spokesperson Abdulaziz Abdulbaqi and transport system spokesperson Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi.
Saudi authorities successfully implemented security and traffic plans during the movement of pilgrims from Mina to Arafat, onward to Muzdalifah and then back to Mina for Eid rituals.
SPA told APP that around 290,000 pilgrims were transported from Arafat to Muzdalifah during one operational phase, while another 357,000 pilgrims were later moved from Muzdalifah back to Mina.
Officials said the fifth operational transport phase had also started and would continue until the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah, linking Mina stations with Muzdalifah and Arafat through the metro network.
More than 2,500 buses were operating round the clock to transport pilgrims, while 24 parking areas with space for 20,000 buses had been prepared to reduce congestion and improve movement efficiency.
Authorities also introduced mobile air-conditioned support caravans to assist pilgrims in case of bus breakdowns during the Hajj operation.
SPA said more than 2.4 million pilgrims had benefited from the “Passenger with No Bag” initiative, while over 3.8 million bags had been transported under the service.
Saudi authorities had also shipped more than 400,000 containers of Zamzam water to different countries as part of arrangements for pilgrims returning home after Hajj.
