ISLAMABAD, Aug 08 (APP):The government has approved civil awards for 78 individuals in recognition of their sacrifices, courage and acts of extraordinary bravery in service of the country.
The decision was taken at a special committee meeting on gallantry awards chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad on Saturday.
The awards were approved in various categories for individuals who made significant contributions and demonstrated exceptional courage in the face of adversity.
Speaking at the meeting, Naqvi said it was a national responsibility to recognize and encourage those who had sacrificed their lives for the country and those who had displayed extraordinary bravery in its service.
“The country remains indebted to the martyrs and ghazis for their everlasting sacrifices,” Naqvi said, emphasizing that the courage and dedication of those who served the nation would continue to be remembered.
He said the great sacrifices of martyrs and the bravery of the ghazis were a national asset and represented a lasting legacy of devotion to the country.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Federal Secretary Interior, Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency, Additional Secretary Cabinet and other relevant officials.
Representatives from all four provinces also participated in the meeting through video link, contributing to the deliberations on the proposed awards.
The approval of the 78 civil awards reflects the government’s effort to formally recognize acts of sacrifice and bravery, ensuring that the services of those who have made extraordinary contributions to the country are honored at the national level.
