ISLAMABAD, Feb 22 (APP): To facilitate residents during Ramazan, 7 Ramazan bazaars have been established across Islamabad.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon visited several of these bazaars to review arrangements, check prices, and ensure the availability of essential items at official rates.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected stock levels at stalls and verified that rate lists were displayed and followed. He reviewed the availability of basic food items and assessed arrangements related to cleanliness, parking, and security. Officials briefed him on daily monitoring measures in place to ensure smooth operations throughout the holy month.

The DC expressed satisfaction over the provision of Ramazan relief, stating that essential items were available in sufficient quantities at government-notified prices. He said chicken, grocery items, fresh vegetables, and fruits were being sold at reduced rates to support household needs during Ramazan.
According to the district administration, each Ramazan bazaar is being supervised by the respective Assistant Commissioner. Monitoring teams are conducting daily checks to ensure stock availability and strict compliance with official prices. Any shortfall in supply or violation of rates is addressed immediately through on-site coordination with vendors.
The DC said that a cashless payment system is fully functional at the Ramazan bazaars to facilitate buyers and improve transaction records. He added that the district administration remains active to ensure that Ramazan relief reaches citizens without interruption.
Arrangements for parking, security, and sanitation were also reviewed during the inspections. The administration stated that coordinated efforts with relevant departments have been made to maintain order and hygiene at all bazaar locations, especially during peak shopping hours.
The DC reiterated that all administrative resources are being used to ensure the supply of low-priced and quality food items. He warned that profiteering and hoarding would not be allowed under any circumstances. Legal action, he said, would be taken against anyone found charging above the official rate list.
He urged citizens to purchase essential items strictly according to the government-notified prices and to report any violations to the concerned authorities. The administration emphasized that public cooperation is essential to keep the Ramazan bazaars effective and accessible.
