ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (APP): The National Assembly was informed on Friday that a total of 500 officers had been appointed on a contractual basis in the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) during the last three years, including both fresh recruits and re-employed retired officials.
Responding to a question by MNA Naeema Kishwar Khan, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry told the House that out of the 500 contractual appointments, 315 were fresh appointees while 185 were re-employed officers.
According to the details shared with the Assembly, the highest number of contractual appointments was made at the level of Deputy Assistant Director, where 290 officers are currently serving on contract, including 166 fresh recruits and 124 re-employed officials.
The House was informed that three officers were appointed as Director General, all of them fresh recruits. At the Director level, five officers were appointed, including one fresh and four re-employed officials. Similarly, 29 Deputy Directors were hired on contract, comprising 18 fresh and 11 re-employed officers.
At the Assistant Director level, 173 officers are serving on contract, of whom 127 are fresh appointees and 46 are re-employed.
The minister said the details of these officers, including their names, domicile, pay and allowances, CNIC numbers and age, have been maintained in NADRA’s official records and can be provided as per parliamentary procedure.
The Assembly was also informed about the position-wise contractual salary structure. The highest average contractual salary is being paid to Director Generals, with officers in grade T-10 receiving an average of Rs875,001 per month, while those in O-10 grade receive Rs770,500.
At the Director level, officers in grade T-9 receive an average salary of Rs576,714, while those in O-9 are paid Rs471,833. Deputy Directors in grade T-8 receive Rs382,300, while those in O-8 are paid Rs243,551. Another category of Deputy Directors in T-7 grade receives an average of Rs283,107.
Assistant Directors in grade T-6 receive an average salary of Rs167,235, while those in O-7 are paid Rs84,263. Another category in T-5 grade receives Rs121,723.
At the Deputy Assistant Director level, officers in O-6 grade receive an average salary of Rs55,397, while those in T-4 grade are paid Rs61,074.
