5.3 magnitude earthquake jolts southern Punjab

ISLAMABAD, Oct 23 (APP): An earthquake measuring 5.3 on
Richter Scale Friday morning struck parts of southern Punjab including Jampur, Rajanpur, Muzaffargarh, Vehari and Sadiqabad.
According to Pakistan Met Department (PMD), the
epicenter of the quake that struck at 0527 hours, was 23
kilometre west of Jampur at the depth of 29 kilometre.
The tremor was also felt in Bahawalpur, Ochh Sharif, Shujjabad,
Dera Ghazi Khan, Kot Addu, Jahanian, Shorkot, Tando Allah Yar and
Kabirwala.
The quake spread panic among people and they rushed out of
their homes. However, no loss of life or property was reported.
