47th MCMC participants visit Islamabad police central office, review modern policing system
ISLAMABAD, Sep 10 (APP):A delegation of participants of the 47th Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) visited the Central Police Office (CPO), Islamabad, where they were briefed on the capital police’s modern command and control system, crime prevention mechanisms, counter-terrorism capabilities and technology-based security measures.
An official told APP on Thursday that DIG Law and Order and Training Muhammad Ateeq Tahir and AIG Operations Hamza Humayun took the delegation around Islamabad Police’s newly established Command, Control, Communication and Coordination Centre.
The delegation was briefed on the working mechanism of Islamabad Police and practical measures being taken to prevent crime, besides the professional capabilities of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), intelligence-based operations and different aspects of security strategies.
Briefing the participants, DIG Ateeq said Safe City cameras, data analytics and intelligence-based operations were being used for early identification of criminal activity and effective crime prevention.
He also briefed the delegation on the professional capabilities of the CTD, counter-terrorism operations and coordinated strategies being followed to strengthen security in the federal capital.
The delegation appreciated the professional performance, modern reforms and effective use of technology by Islamabad Police, describing its policing model as an example for other institutions to follow.
