400 Federal Government schools to be upgraded

ISLAMABAD, May 3 (APP):Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood said the government was planning to upgrade over 4,00 federal government schools to provide better facilities to the students of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
Responding to a calling attention notice, moved by Shahida Akhter Ali in National Assembly, the minister said that better education facilities would be provided to the students of the federal capital.
He said the parents wanted to enroll their children in Model Schools as comparing to ordinary schools. There is no issue of admission in ordinary schools. According to door to door survey, 11,000 children were out of schools and 7,000 have already been admitted in various schools of the federal government.
He said budget of Higher Education Commission (HEC) was not being curtailed – Actually HEC has demanded Rs 103 billion for next financial year.Finance Ministry has shown its inability to fulfill their demand. However, maximum possible budget would be granted to HEC during the next financial year.
