ISLAMABAD, Jan 15 (APP):The inaugural ceremony of the second 10-day Inter-Provincial Residential Program for Young Writers will be held at the Committee Room of the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) on Friday.
Organized by the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) under the auspices of the National Heritage and Culture Division, the program will run from January 15 to 24, 2026, bringing together young writers from across the provinces.
According to a spokesperson for PAL, following the success of last year’s initiative, selected writers from all provinces and regions of the country have once again been included in this residential program.
“The primary objective of the program is to introduce writers from remote areas to the mainstream literary landscape and to refine and enhance their creative abilities,” the spokesperson said.
He added that another important aim of the initiative is to explore new literary possibilities within the capital’s cultural environment while fostering unity, harmony, and intellectual exchange among writers from different parts of the country.
Under the program, participating writers will stay at the Pakistan Academy of Letters’ guest house from January 15 to January 24, 2026, and will take part in various literary activities. These include participation in literary events organized by the Academy, visits to other academic and literary institutions, opportunities to meet prominent literary figures, and a platform to present their creative works.
He further emphasized that this residential program would play a significant role in strengthening national literary cohesion and promoting meaningful engagement among writers across Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that 20 writers from the four provinces, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have been selected for this program, which will conclude on January 24.
