ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (APP): Pakistan is set to host the Regional Transport Ministers Conference on October 23 & 24, bringing together Ministers and high-level delegations from 27 countries.
The two-day event, to be held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, aims to strengthen regional cooperation in land, sea and air connectivity, promote the development of trade corridors, and expand existing bilateral and multilateral relations, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
At the official “Logo” unveiling ceremony, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi and Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar participated and shared their views.
The event also featured a detailed presentation on the vision and objectives of RTMC 2025.
In preparation for the Conference, a special review meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan to assess administrative and technical arrangements. Relevant Ministries were instructed to ensure foolproof and world-class preparations.
Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that the Regional Transport Ministers Conference will serve as a platform to project Pakistan’s positive image internationally and will pave the way for enhanced trade and economic linkages across the region. He added that the Ministries of Communications, Railways and Maritime Affairs along with other departments are working in close coordination to ensure effective arrangements and successful hosting of this prestigious international event.
Federal Ministers Hanif Abbasi and Junaid Anwar reaffirmed their Ministries’ full support and collaboration, terming the Conference an honor for Pakistan and a milestone that will open new avenues of regional connectivity and cooperation. During the meeting, the official “Logo” of the Conference RTMC was formally approved while senior officials and members of the organizing committee also attended the session.
Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan stressed maintaining the highest standards in all aspects of organization, ensuring that Pakistan demonstrates its capabilities on a global stage. He also announced that a cultural show and exhibition will be organized alongside the Conference to showcase Pakistan’s rich traditions and hospitality to the visiting delegates.
Various Government departments will also set up public exhibitions for broader engagement. He directed all concerned departments to ensure seamless coordination and timely completion of tasks for the successful execution of the event. Departmental representatives presented detailed briefings on their respective areas of responsibility during the meeting.
