LAHORE, Sept 27 (APP): The 23rd death anniversary
of filmstar Nayyar Sultana was observed here on Tuesday.
Qur’aan Khawani was also held at her residence.
Nayyar Sultana performed central role in more than
100 films and her serious performance in the films were
appreciated by the viewers.
She was born in Indian city Ali Garh in 1935. She
migrated to Karachi and then Lahore after the partition.
She met prominent film director of the past, Anwar Kamal
Pasha who cast her in his film “Qaatil”. This first film
of her career. Her famous films were, Chan Sajna, Suhaili, Baji,
Intekhab, Mazloom, Meri Bhabhi and Aik Musafir Aik Haseena.
She always preferred performance over dance in films which
made her roles memorable.
