ISLAMABAD, Oct 12 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 22 criminals during separate operations conducted across the federal capital as part of an ongoing crackdown on crime and anti-social elements.
An official told APP on Sunday that police teams from Ramna, Sangjani, Khanna, Kirpa and Lohi Bher Police Stations apprehended six accused and recovered 1,548 grams of Ice and one pistol with ammunition from their possession. He said that cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
He added that during a special campaign to arrest proclaimed offenders and absconders, another 16 criminals were also taken into custody.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations , Muhammad Shoaib Khan, said that the ICT Police are continuously working to protect the lives and property of citizens and maintain law and order in the federal capital.
“No one will be allowed to disrupt the peace of the city,” he said, adding that safeguarding citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
